When we initially came up with the idea of having a shop we all pictured it as being inspired by Paperchase, a company which specialises in stationary, greetings cards and paper. Our shop would sell similar sort of items but obviously with our own designs on them to give it our unique edge. We then thought more about this idea and questioned whether or not we could actually compete. It was highly unlikely that we'd ever come close to this company because they are so established and were at risk of being too much the same so would we really make much money from this idea? There was also the fact that we'd have to split our time between working with our clients and producing items/design work for this shop. Realistically we should dedicate pretty much all of time to the client because that is afterall the type of service they would be looking for. We did however, still want to keep the shop space so I came up with the idea that we could fill this shop space with the work of others, this would mean we had a lot more time to work with our clients and will also be another source of income for us.
On a personal level, Paperchase is still inspiration for myself because I really like the style of the work they produce.
