Design Strategy; Fedrigoni Acroprint White Lies exhibition.

A group of us also went to the White Lies on Acroprint Fedrigoni exhibition at Leeds Gallery in order to further explore print on top of the print visit. This exhibition showcased a new paper range but quite cleverly with design applied to it using a quote concept. Visting this exhibition gave us the opportunity to make further creative contacts but also explore different stocks due to the elements that were displayed such as various publications. This gave us ideas for the exhibition the Geek Table is planning in terms of how the work could be displayed because the space was very minimal but this really benefitted the work. 

Design Strategy; contacting Young.

Young were one of my favourite studios out of the ones I'd found in Manchester so I decided to contact them to see if myself and Kirsty were able to go for a studio visit. Unfortunately they didn't get back to us but I'm not sure if this is because it was quite short notice or whether they were just generally really busy! I would like to follow this up at some point possibly over the summer because I do really like their work and their studio seems quite unique being animation and illustration.

Myself and Kirsty Cave are planning a trip to Manchester next week and thought we'd make the most of the opportunity by getting in touch with some design studios about popping in for a chat. The above studios are all ones I've found that link to both our practices as we have similar interests within Graphic Design. The reason for choosing these studios is simply because I like what I see and would love to know more about their practice. We will each contact one studio so we aren't overwhelmed with responses. 

Design Presence; application to Cargo Collective.

I've finally got round to applying for my Cargo Collective account as the basis for my professional website. I already have a personal website address that can be linked up to this so I just need to wait for them to respond and hopefully I can get some of my work up in the near future.
